Summer Opportunities for High School and Middle School Students
Just a reminder that there are many beneficial summer opportunities offered throughout the state for high school and middle school students. Such opportunities help students explore a career field or subject area, develop leadership skills or learn about the college admission process. Please contact Mrs. Nicks with any questions. |

Freshman tour of Campbell University
The freshman class will tour Campbell University on Thursday, April 12th. The bus will leave at 8:30 am and we should return around 3:00 pm. We will be eating in the campus dining hall after the tour so students will need to bring $8.25 (cash only) to Ms. Bunch in the Internet Cafe on Monday or Tuesday of next week. Please make sure to review the College Touring Tips listed below since many students will be touring a college campus for the first time. |
Youth Volunteer Opportunities
The Chatham Connecting website ( www.chathamconnecting.org ) is putting Youth Volunteer Opportunities back on our home page, as we do this time of year. Hopefully, some business leaders have young family members who want to volunteer. We have over 50 volunteer jobs listed for young people. |
April House event: Penny War
April's House competition in the high school will be a PENNY WAR! Each house will get credit for all the pennies they collect over the next two weeks (April 9 - 20). But this isn't just a collection, this is war! For every NICKEL, DIME, QUARTER, and DOLLAR you bring in can be used to sabotage the house of your choice and that money will go against their total. The middle school will also be competing by the grade level. The house with the largest total amount by April 20th will be our winner! All money collected will go to a scholarship fund to help kids in need. The war begins Monday, April 9th so go raid the couch cushions! |
