The classwork sessions of a Driver Education program on the Chatham Charter campus have operated under the umbrella of the program in Chatham County Schools since 2013. In October of 2015 Chatham County Schools will contract with the North Carolina Driving School to run its program. Chatham Charter administration is in the process of working through logistics of its students in that program. The state budget includes Driver Education funding so students enrolled at Chatham Charter, regardless of their county of residence, are accounted for in the funding received from the state. This means all age-eligible Chatham Charter students can take the program through Chatham County Schools. Chatham Charter does not plan to offer an October 2015 class due to an insufficient number of students being of eligible age to constitute a full class. Students are welcome to take the program through Chatham County Schools or privately, however. An update on the next class will be posted on this webpage when a decision is finalized. |
